un baaton ko bhi hai,
jo ab hoti nahin hain.
un raaton ko bhi hain,
jo ab sooti nahin hain,
us chadar ko bhi hai,
jo bistar ke ek taraf ab khinchti nahin hai
har us subaha ko bhi hai,
jo ab adhuri si akele hi aajaati hai,
bas vahi,
intezaar.

in sadko ko bhi hai,
un moodon ko bhi hai,
mera tumhara,
aur hum jaise na jane kitno ka,
jo inpe yun hi phire the,
ghadi ki suiiyan,
rokk dene ko aade the.
bas vahi,
intezaar ,
bada anokha word hai ye,
samay ki dardhta,
hiridya ki vedna
aur dimag ki adheerta,
sabhi isme nihit hain.

bachhpan se jawani ka,
jawani se kamyabi ka..
bas vahi hai,
intezaar.
haan in sab ke beech,
aur bahut kuch aata hai,
jise hum bhool-chook me,
life keh dete hain,
par vo to
aate-jaate lamhe hain,
kuch jaan ke kiye,
kuch ayinve hi hue,
kisse hain,
jo kabhi to pani ban,
chahere ke kone se,
behete hain,
to kabhi colgate se brush karne ka,
acchha bahana bhi dete hain.
vo to sapne hain,
jo kabhi sote hue dekhe,
to kabhi jaagte hue toote.
life to bas vahi hai,
intezaar.

ab tumse bhi mein kya kahoon,
tum kehete ho jo dil me aye
keh do.
par dil ka mujhe ab bas,
kabhi kabhar hi ehessas hota hai,
jab kabhi kuch yaadein chott karti,
hain,
khansi ke saath milkar seene,
mein keel si chubhti hain.
haan bas tabhi ek pal ko,
dikhta hai vo,vahin
jakda hua,
chalte hue pankhe ki tarah bhikra hua,
daya bhi aati hai mujhe,
samjhata bhi hoon usse,
ki bhai bas ab,
tera time ho gaya,
bachhpan aur jawani ke saath,
ab tera bhi pack up ho gaya
ab maturity lani hai,
life me kuch surety lani hai,
uski baatein to,
kai barsson se meri samajh,
ke pare hain,
mohenjodaro aur harappa ki,
script ki tarah
uske bhi,
kayi sawaal undeciphered,
hi pade hain.
har raat vo kuch naye
sapne saat lekar sota hai.
aur har raat unhin ke tukde sanjota hai.
farmaieshein to kai hain,
uski,
khush rahene ki,
milne milane ki,
ek cup coffee ke sath fir vahi dhun gungunane ki,

apna time waste karna hai.
kuch adad,ghisi-pitti purani,
pics ka ek collarge,
bhi dikhata hai
usi me dekha hai,
ki,
vo hansta tha,
tumse milta tha,
bahut naive hai,
usse lagta hai,
ki tum fir,
aaoge,
vo,shaitaniya karega,
aur tum,
fir khilkhilaoge.
abhi toota to nahin hai vo,
par thak sa gya hai.
hum-tum to aage badh gaye,
par lagta hai,
vo vahin rukk sa gaya hai.
par shukr hai,
ki,
ab sirf itna hi
bas chalta hai,
uska mujh pe,

JUST something i came across, while studying. 
its an excerpt from the chapter on "society and culture" (ad 600-1300)
its an inscription giving account of an historical event
i feel that it is of pronounced contemporary relevance 
hence i am sharing it here.

in 1264 ad somnath witnessed close ties between a hormuzi merchant " Nuruddin Firuz" and the local landowner "Chhada" to such an extent that they were called righteous friends (Dharmabandhava). the relevant bilingual inscription records the active support of local eminent Hindus to construct a "Mijigti" or Mosque at somnath.
the spirit of synthesis is best brought out by the same record ad 1264, which invoked
ALLAH as "VISVARUPA"( of universal form), "SUNYARUPA" (formless or aniconic) and "LAKSHYALAKSHYA" (one who can be seen yet be invisible ).

that was somnath in 1264 AD !!,
how farther apart have we gone from our culture in process of defending it ?
